Colonial Council Academic Challenge!

Our MasterMinds team will participate in the annual Colonial Council
Academic Challenge tournament at Voorheesville High School on May 22nd at 4 o*clock. Our team consist of captain Nick Hodges, Adam Herman, Jesse Lehnert, Andrew Kelley, Matt Pellegrini, Tom Horton, Emily Keller and Abdoulaye Diop.

The Colonial Council Academic Challenge uses the College Bowl format for match play. Matches are played in seven-minute halves with each school playing four students at a time. Students are going to face questions cover a broad range: art, biology, chemistry, current events, geography, history, literature, music, political science, pop culture, religion and sports. Spectators are welcomed at the event. We wish our students the best of luck at the tournament!

Season info:

The Watervliet MasterMinds team played their last rotation games at Voorheesville High School on 04/03/08. Our varsity team consisted of Nick Hodges (captain), Adam Herman, Jesse Lehnert and Andrew Kelley. Our JV team consisted of Tom Horton(captain), Abdoulaye Diop, Matt Pellegrini and Emily Keller.

Playing number 2 seed and the host team Voorheesville High School, our team was at negative 10 points at the half. The team made an amazing comeback by winning the game 70 to 35. Adam Herman scored 30 points along with Nick Hodges, Jesse Lehnert and Andrew Kelley scoring 10 points each. We also won a very close game against Duanesburg 130 to 80.

Our Cannoneers ended up with a total of 990 points for the entire regular season, coming in third among 5 Capital District High School teams.
