Mr. Olszewski
(pronounced Ol-SHES-ski)
Mr.
Olszewski started at Watervliet Junior/Senior High School at
the end of February, 2008. He is responsible for all
students in high school, ninth-grade through twelfth-grade
(last names starting with the letter A-K).
Mr.
Olszewski received his B.A. in English from SUNY Albany and
his M.S. in School Counseling from Sage Graduate School. He
is very excited to be here and brings a variety of public
school-aged experience with him. Before Watervliet, Mr.
Olszewski had been employed as a K-12 school guidance
counselor in the Green Island School District for the last
few years. He also served as the athletic director for one
year. In addition to Green Island, Mr. “O” has worked as a
school guidance counselor for three years in an
elementary/middle school setting.
Mr.
Olszewski has a love for athletics and the field of
coaching. He has coached soccer, basketball, baseball, and
track. He adds, “I heavily believe in the positive role
that a school counselor and a coach play in the total
educational and social development of an adolescent. As a
significant part of the educational process, I believe my
roles will assist adolescents to promote self-learning,
respect, and strive to be active members of society.”
