Dear Parents, Students and Guardians:
As we approach mid-year, we begin planning for January Regents, mid-terms and mandatory review sessions. Junior high school students are in regular session during Regents week. High school students, grades 9-12 will attend only if they are scheduled for an exam or review session, so please read this information carefully. Download a copy of this letter
High school students may be scheduled to take a mid-term, Regents exam or attend review session on Tuesday, January 24 through Friday, January 27.
A schedule is included that clearly indicates the dates and times of the exams. Please be sure to carefully review the schedule to ensure your child attends. Please be aware that no make-up exams will be administered. Download a copy of January 2017 Regents exam schedule
Attention: Career and Technical Education students will not be in session on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. They will be in session on Tuesday, January 24, Thursday, January 26 and Friday, January 27.
It is imperative that your child does well, so please encourage your child to take advantage of the mandatory review sessions offered prior to Regents week. A review schedule for testing is posted online. Download and print a copy of January Regents review class schedule (PDF)
High school students are expected to be on time to exams. Students may not be permitted into the testing area once all other students have reached the minimum seat time as per New York State Education Department regulations. Morning exams begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and afternoon exams begin at 12:00 p.m. Students are required to sit for a minimum of two hours for all exams. All book bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, i-Pods and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the testing area. If an electronic device is found in the testing area, the student will be removed and his/her test will be disqualified. If a student brings any of these items to school, the items will be retained in the front office; however, the school district will not be responsible for electronic or valuable personal items. All valuable items should be left at home.
On Tuesday, January 24 through Friday, January 27 high school students will be permitted to use our office phones to make arrangements for transportation, if necessary. Buses will run their regular morning routes. In addition, buses will run at the conclusion of morning and afternoon testing sessions: 10:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
A healthy breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes prepared to do their best! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the guidance office at 629-3302.
