Opportunity for parents of grades 9-12 students to meet with teachers to discuss academic progress

*Watervliet High School is rescheduling Grades 9-12 Report Card Night to Thursday, February 15, due to the weather forecast for tomorrow -- Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Grades 9-12 Report Card Night is scheduled at the start of the Third Quarter to provide time to address academic concerns and take appropriate measures for the second half of the school year. The purpose of the evening is to meet and support the individual needs of every student at Watervliet, especially those who are struggling academically and require specific strategies to improve academic performance.

The first session, starting at 6:00 p.m., is for parents of students who are struggling academically. Pre-arranged meetings* between the teacher and parent/guardian will take place. This hour-long session will allow for teachers to facilitate four (4) individually scheduled fifteen (15) minute meetings.

The second session begins at 7:00 p.m., and is a traditional open format, allowing parents of students in good academic standing to visit and briefly check-in with the teacher.

Also on Wednesday evening, high school guidance counselors will be located in the media center conducting an annual informational session on College Financial Aid. It is never too early, so even if you are not sending a child off to college this year and want to learn more, please feel free to attend – especially between conferences!
