A Toolkit for Parents and Families
Parents and guardians are critical partners for ensuring student success. As schools continue implementing the Common Core standards, it is important for parents to have an understanding of the new standards and how the changes will help prepare children in grades K–12 for college and career success.
Common Core standards are a steady progression of learning expectations in English language arts and mathematics at each grade level, intended to put students, parents, teachers, and school administrators on the same page, working toward shared goals.
The Toolkit for Parents and Families is a collection of materials and resources that will help parents and families better understand New York State’s Common Core Standards.
