STUDENTS DISMISS 15 MINUTES EARLY ON OCTOBER 5
The Watervliet City School District will conduct its annual mandated “Emergency Go Home Early” drill on Friday, October 5. Both schools will dismiss 15 minutes early.
Please note that October 5 is also a staff development half day, which means because of the Emergency Go Home Drill, Watervliet Elementary School students will be dismissed promptly at 11 a.m., rather than the regular half-day dismissal time of 11:15 a.m.
Watervliet Junior-Senior High School students will dismiss 15 minutes early at 10:30 a.m., rather than the regular half-day dismissal time.
No lunches will be served on this day.
The Emergency Go Home Early Drill is mandated by New York State. All schools must participate in these drills each year, which are designed to test the district's emergency plan.
Sept. 27 Staff Development Half Day will dismiss at regular half-day times
Please note that regular half-day dismissal times will be followed on the Staff Development Half Day scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 27. The elementary school will dismiss at 11:15 a.m., and the junior-senior high school will dismiss at 10:54 a.m. Lunches will be served before dismissal on Sept. 27.
